
Cacık
Cacık is a delicious, refreshing dish that’s perfect for warm summer days. This Turkish yoghurt dip is ideal as a side dish for kebabs or simply as a refreshing dip with bread.

Ingredients (for 4 servings)
- 500 g thick yoghurt
- 1 cucumber
- 2 garlic cloves
- 15 ml olive oil
- 15 ml lemon juice
- 5 g dried mint
- Salt
- Freshly ground black pepper
- Fresh mint leaves (for garnish)
Preparation
- Peel and grate the cucumber.
- Squeeze out the excess moisture or let it drain in a sieve.
- Finely chop the garlic.
Instructions
- Place the yoghurt in a bowl and add the garlic, olive oil and lemon juice. Mix well.
- Add the grated cucumber and dried mint, stirring until well combined.
- Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper.
- Chill the cacık in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.
- Garnish with fresh mint leaves before serving.
