Preserving and Canning

Preserving and canning used to be a vital necessity to store the abundance of the harvest season for the winter. These days, we’re so used to having everything available year-round that we often forget this tradition.

Yet, preserving is still very much alive—think of classics like jam, applesauce, and chutney. But it doesn’t stop there. You can preserve fruit in alcohol, create unique jams, or even preserve vegetables, fish, or meat. The possibilities are endless.
