
Plum chutney with raisins & walnuts
This rich plum chutney combines the sweetness of raisins with the earthy crunch of walnuts. Delicious with cheese boards or warm dishes.

Ingredients
- 500 grams ripe plums
- 1 onion
- 1 garlic clove
- 100 grams raisins
- 50 grams walnuts
- 200 grams granulated sugar
- 120 ml apple cider vinegar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Pinch of ground nutmeg
- Pinch of salt
Preparation
- Wash, pit and halve the plums.
- Peel and finely chop the onion and garlic.
- Chop the walnuts.
Instructions
- Heat a pan over medium heat and add the onion and garlic. Sauté until the onion is soft and translucent.
- Add the plums, raisins, chopped walnuts, sugar, apple cider vinegar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
- Simmer over low heat, stirring occasionally, until the plums are soft and the chutney thickens (about 40 minutes).
- Taste and adjust sweetness or seasoning if desired.
- Let the chutney cool and store in sterilised jars.
