Smoothie with banana, orange & mint

This smoothie with banana, orange, lime, mint and a hint of ginger powder is fresh, slightly spicy and wonderfully refreshing. Perfect for a sunny morning or as a healthy boost during the day.

Ingredients (serves 2)

  • 2 ripe bananas
  • 2 oranges
  • 1 lime
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 6–8 fresh mint leaves
  • 100 ml cold water or ice cubes

Preparation

  • Juice the oranges and the lime.
  • Peel the bananas and break them into chunks.
  • Wash the mint leaves.

Method

  1. Put the citrus juice, bananas and cold water or ice cubes in a blender.
  2. Blend into a smooth, fresh smoothie.
  3. Add the ground ginger and mint leaves while blending.
  4. Taste and add more mint or a splash of water if the smoothie is too thick.
  5. Serve immediately, optionally garnished with a mint leaf.
